The Traveller - Pope

Three-movement choral work about the battle between heaven and hell. Anna Pope composed this work in 2009 for double choir and lyric baritone/tenor soloist.

Three movements depict the struggle of 'the traveller' - a man caught between heaven and hell. Enticed by a chorus of demons and entranced by a chorus of angels, he moves through purgatory to supplication and finally paradise.
"Do not cast me away on that day. Just Judge of vengeance, grant me the gift of pardon before the day of reckoning."
